From its breathtaking views of Lac du Louché to its snowcapped mountains in Valais, the solar panels on the façade of this Art gallery are also reflective in the design by architect Jean-Pierre Emery.

Fondation Opale offers the public the opportunity to explore contemporary art with universal themes in the form of temporary exhibitions, as well as in conferences, workshops and meet and greets with artists.

It acquired its Aboriginal art collection from the Australian Art Museum of Utrecht (AAMU) after the AAMU closed in 2017. Georges Petitjean, former AAMU curator, also moved to Fondation Opale.
